The chart below shows the percentage of households in owned and rented accommodation

The chart gives information about how many households were in owned or rented homes in five different countries. Overall, it is clear that owning a home was more common than renting in most of the countries shown, although there were some notable differences between them.

Looking at the data more closely, the country with the highest rate of home ownership was Romania, where over 95% of households owned their accommodation. This is a very high figure compared to the other countries in the chart. In contrast, Germany had the lowest ownership rate, with only around 45% of households owning their homes, which means that renting was actually more common there than buying.

The United Kingdom and Spain showed similar patterns to each other, with home ownership being the majority situation in both countries. However, the percentage in Spain was somewhat higher, suggesting that cultural or economic factors may have played a role in these differences.

One interesting point is that the gap between ownership and renting varies quite a lot. In some countries, almost everyone owns their home, but in Germany the situation is nearly the opposite. This could be related to things like housing costs, mortgage availability, or cultural attitudes toward renting.

In conclusion, the chart shows that home ownership is generally more common than renting across the countries shown, but the degree of this pattern differs quite significantly from country to country, with Germany standing out as an exception where renting is the preferred option for the majority of households.
